Well a very good morning hockey fans from the sunny South West. I hope you are all back into the groove of the hockey season whoever you support.
Over the last few weeks, we have been working tirelessly with many clubs and associations putting together some great information that we hope you will all enjoy reading. You can see from our home page that a Q & A document was distributed to a whole host of people last week, and we are in the midst of collecting the responses now. There is certainly some great comments and responses so far, and we look forward to sharing them with you all very soon.
We have also been very fortunate that a couple of clubs have come forward and approached BIHFA with some suggested articles they would like to submit to us for your reading pleasure. Again, watch the website and forthcoming newsletter for more information.
Finally, I just want to thank again everyone involved with BIHFA, both committee & members. With the new season starting, things really have picked up a head of steam and we have some exciting times ahead.
So wherever you are this weekend, enjoy the hockey. For me, I am off for my first visit to Basingstoke

BIHFA were delighted this week to have a face to face meeting with EIHA Chairman, Ken Taggart. This meeting was a follow up to our communications issued to all the Leagues and Associations, and we very much hope to do something similar with both the Elite League, and the Scottish Hockey Leagues.
We discussed all things hockey during a very productive 2 hours, and I would personally like to thank Ken for taking some time out of his schedule to meet me, it was very much appreciated.
Suffice to say the meeting went very well indeed, and the initial seeds have been sown for an excellent working relationship between both organizations.
Watch out for the 2nd Newsletter coming soon and some further details on this meeting on our website.

Well here we go again…. season 2007-2008. Which ever team you follow, which ever League it is in, this is always an exciting time for the fans. The rosters are full, fixtures are published, bring it on…………….
We have had a very busy summer at BIHFA setting up the framework, putting the structure in place, and preparing for the new season ahead. The summer months are always traditionally quite in the world of Ice Hockey, so for everyone who has signed up and kept in touch during this time, a HUGE THANKS from everyone at BIHFA, it is your support that has continued to motivate us.
We now reach a critical phase for BIHFA as we move forward to support you, our members, and you will be seeing a great more information and more frequent press release statements in the weeks and months ahead. We need your support as members to assist us in recruiting others, and likewise, if this is your first time on our website, and you like what you see, join us and sign up.
We are currently working on our 2nd Newsletter, and will be doing interviews for publication in Powerplay in the next couple of weeks, so watch this space (and Powerplay of course) for more information.
Don’t forget if you want to get in touch with me, please just drop me a note to chair@bihfa.co.uk anytime.
So enjoy your hockey, and I hope to meet as many of you as I can over the season .

Morning hockey dudes!
I am hoping you all enjoyed our first BIHFA Newsletter that was distributed last week. We have had some feedback and so far in the main, everyone seems to have been very happy with the content and lay out. There were some concerns where people were unable to view the letter being a little unclear about which application was needed to open it, and just to confirm, it is Microsoft Word.
If you have any comments on the newsletter, any ideas for future articles, or indeed have an article you would like us to consider publishing, then please just get in touch via chair@bihfa.co.uk.
The Summer is now flying at full speed, and hockey is only a matter of a few weeks away again. Bring it on…..
I hope that you are enjoying reading the newsletters and blogs, and we will ensure that updates are posted on our website as soon as possible for any new news. We have been continuing with a lot of background work at the moment, and you would expect, things are a little quiet with holidays and the off season, and I would expect to see output steadily increasing as we get closer to the season curtain raiser games. Again, as I post above, if you believe there are people we should maybe be speaking too, or you have a question that you simply have to ask, please just get in touch.
So enjoy whats left of the summer, and here’s to some nicer weather ahead.

Well hockey dudes, after more rain that I can ever remember during the month on June, we are heading at full speed towards winter and another hockey season. Regardless of which team you support, the nerves are twitching, the signings are ongoing, who will reign supreme in their respective leagues this year? Only time will tell!
Here at the BIHFA, there is no mid season break, membership is still on the increase, and we have this week been continuing with our correspondence to clubs, leagues and associations to formally introduce ourselves to them, and begin the process of opening channels of communication across the many stakeholders in the sport.
Our first newsletter is nearing completion and should be out to members and on the website by early next week with all the latest information from the team.
So thanks for your continued support during the summer, and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
Dave

Hi there hockey fans
Just a very quick update on how things are progressing in terms of contacting folks in the game.
We have been sending out emails and letters to the main key stakeholders, and are beginning to kick off communications which are going well.
Things are going along nicely, and the we have new members joining every day
and have now passed the bench mark figure to justify the AGM, details off which will be posted on the website once confirmed.
We welcome all comments and suggestions, and are extremely grateful for the many members and non members who have been in touch via our website. We have had contacts not only from the UK, but also several other countries around Europe and the response has been fantastic, in what is always recognised as a quiet time in the hockey world.
So please get in touch with us, either via THF, or through the website and we will get back to you.
For those who visit our website, watch it closely as we develop and add things moving forward.
We will be adding a new field shortly which will allow you to submit items to our committee meeting agenda’s which is a function we see as critical as we move to represent out membership.
Once again, I thank each and every one of you for all your comments and suggestions to far, and we hope to welcome many more members in the months ahead.
